So, Donald Trump has deleted #BlackHistoryMonth has he? Why is this a bad thing?

Without looking at Google; how many Black inventors, scholars, heroes, or icons can you name?

Without looking at Google; how many African cultures, civilizations, monarchs, or mythologies can you name? How much of African history do you know?

Now, without looking at Google; how many White inventors, scholars, heroes or icons can you name?

Now, without looking at Google; how many European cultures, civilizations, monarchs or mythologies can you name? How much of European history do you know?

How much of American history do you know? American history is made up of both European and African histories and cultures. But if you look at a textbook or at popular American stories you'd never know that. If American history was only European we'd never have Jazz, Blues, Soul & Southern Gospel music, Mailboxes, Cajun food, Mass Produced Shoes, Long Lasting Lightbulbs, Air Traffic Control technology, Railroad Control technology, even the Ice Cream scoop.

#BlackHistoryMonth is about far more than Slavery, the Civil War or the Civil Rights movement. It's about honoring the history, achievements, and contributions you would never know existed without this program. Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and Alexander Graham Bell were not only major inventors in America, many of the greatest inventions made in America that we use every day came from Black African-Americans.
We cannot allow the history books to show that only Whites ever did anything for America.
