Star Wars Again

STAR WARS AGAIN!

These are my theories/points from the Star Wars movies (movies only, I do not include information from books, games, or tv shows)

Rey's father is WEDGE ANTILLES, the X-Wing Fighter Pilot who was the primary support for Luke in Episode IV A New Hope. Wedge graduated from a support role to primary hero in Episode VI Return of the Jedi when he and Lando destroyed the Second Death Star together. My theory is that Rey was being cared for by Luke, possibly as a padawan learner among the New Jedi and was present when Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren destroyed the New Jedi order. She inherited Force skills and powers from the fallen Jedi and Knights of Ren the same way Luke inherited power and help from Obi Wan and Yoda. Plus one of the few belongings Rey is shown to possess in The Force Awakens is a crude doll wearing a traditional X-Wing Pilot Uniform. That item cements the idea that her lineage comes through an X-Wing Pilot, even though we are told that Luke is most definitely not her father (Thank you JJ Abrams).

Finn's father is LANDO CALRISSIAN from Episodes V and VI. He also was a primary supporting character that graduated to primary hero by Episode VI. My theory is that Finn was taken from Lando as a way to ensure his cooperation with the Empire but it backfired and pushed Lando towards the Rebellion where he became a General and led part of the assault that destroyed the Second Death Star along side Wedge Antilles.

The idea that the two primary heroes from Episode VII The Force Awakens is symbolic of the cycle between Heroes and Supporting Characters, where the Heroes live out their purpose and step aside for the next generation of Heroes coming out of the shadows. Plus there is significant imagery in the Star Wars movies to support this.

1: Episode VI Return of the Jedi shows Princess Leia stepping aside as leader of the Rebel Alliance and taking a backseat to the primary decision making. She is replaced by the tall stoic woman who announces the plans to attack and destroy the Second Death Star.

2: Episode IV shows Luke as the obvious hero destroying the Death Star but by Episode VI he moves on to other tasks which leaves the job to Wedge Antilles. Also Han Solo flew the "Millennium Falcon" in Episode IV to rescue and support Luke's X-Wing but in Episode VI Han also moved on to other tasks which left flying the "Falcon" to Lando.

3. Episode I, The Phantom Menace, shows Qui Gon Jinn being killed and replaced by Obi Wan Kenobi. That cycle is repeated when Obi Wan sacrifices himself in order to help Luke take the stage. There is a consistent pattern of the pupil replacing the teacher or background characters taking the lime-light.

4. The Jedi were the stars and powerhouses of Episodes I, II and III but were then replaced by the Emperor and Darth Vader, Lords of the Sith. The Sith rose to power while the Jedi were forced into the shadows. Another example of the rotating cycle between lime-light and background.

5. There is also a significant imagery in the relationship between R2D2 and BB8 in Episode VII. BB8 is portrayed as a smaller kin to R2D2 with many of the same behaviors, beeping patterns and emotional expressions. The imagery is deepened when BB8 approaches the "sleeping" R2D2 as if looking to talk with his larger more famous counterpart. The imagery really hits home when at the end of Episode VII R2D2 "wakes up" to reveal the majority of the much sought after map to Luke Skywalker kept in his databanks but needs the smaller and newer BB8 to finish that map. The idea is that older and more famous heroes (even droids) have done their part and are passing on the torch to their successors.

There is a lot more such imagery but I'm sleepy now. Good Night all!

Stay tuned in case I come up with more Star Wars theories!
